About SVNIT Surat
Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT) was established in 1961 as one of the Regional Engineering Colleges for imparting technical education. In exercise of the powers conferred by section 3 of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Act, 1956, the Central Government on the advice of the University Grants Commission, has declared the Sardar Vallabhbhai Regional College of Engineering & Technology (SVRECT), Surat to Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT), Surat with status of “Deemed University” with effect from 4th December 2002. The Institute has been granted the status of ‘Institute of National Importance’ w.e.f. 15th August, 2007.
At present, the Institute is offering Institute runs the B.Tech Courses (11), M.Tech Courses (21), Five Year Integrated Courses (04), M.B.A (01), M.Tech (R) and Ph.D in Engineering, Science, Management & English. The SVNIT has excelled tremendously in various research areas in Applied Sciences and Engineering disciplines during the last ten years, and received prestigious awards and grants from various Government bodies.

About Department of Chemistry
Department of Chemistry is one of the most prominent departments in SVNIT, Surat, Gujarat, India. It offers Five Years Integrated M. Sc. in Chemistry, B.Tech. in Industrial Chemistry and Ph.D. program. The academic achievements of the department are well reflected by over 1000 research papers published in various reputed International Journals and more than 70 Ph.D.’s produced covering a wide spectrum of the Chemical Sciences.
